The Spinathon runs over a 24 hour period from 12pm Saturday 9th March to 12pm Sunday 10th March. Participants will be taking on the challenge of keeping stationary bikes spinning over this time to raise funds for Hospice @ Haz Beanz at the Albany Marina.
Anyone can participate! You can join as part of a team or as an individual. You don’t need to cycle for the whole 24 hours - you can ride for as little as 30 mins, 1 - 2 hours or anywhere up to 24 hours, you choose.
Participants seek sponsorship from friends, family, colleagues, the community at large to raise funds.
All funds raised go to Albany Community Hospice to ensure free specialist palliative care continues to be provided to the community.
From 12pm Saturday 8th March, the annual Hospice Spinathon begins! Cyclists will be taking on the challenge of keeping stationary bikes spinning for 24 hours until midday Sunday 9th of March.
You can get involved as a cyclist and raise funds for Albany Community Hospice or you can donate to a participant or a team.
Cyclists can join as part of a team or as an individual. There is no pressure to cycle the whole 24 hours, although a few people do! You can cycle for as little as 30 minutes or choose to cycle for longer. Cyclists seek sponsorship from friends, family, colleagues, the community at large and all funds raised go to Albany Community Hospice. Most participants ride as part of a team. Team Captains are responsible for their riding rosters for their cyclists.
Our aim for Spinathon 2025 is to have fun while bringing our community together! Anyone can visit the Spinathon space at the front of Haz Beanz at the Albany Marina to cheer and join in the party! We will have entertainment on Saturday afternoon and Haz Beanz will be open 'til 7pm with their usual yummy coffee & food. There will be grass games on the lawn and a few surprises. So, please invite your family & friends to join us.
Albany Community Hospice provides person-centred specialist palliative care in a home-like environment to those with a life-limiting illness. Hospice's aim is to provide this service for free to anyone in our community and thanks to the ongoing generosity of the community, we have been able to continuously achieve this aim since 1991.
This year we are aiming to raise $48,000 or $2,000 for every hour the bikes are spinning. This aim would go a long way in continuing to provide free palliative care to our community. We appreciate your support!
